Kelly Osbourne has publicly revealed that her family has made a remarkable ten separate bids to buy back the famous mansion where they filmed their groundbreaking MTV reality series, The Osbournes. Despite their persistent efforts, the current owners have consistently declined to sell the property back to the iconic family.
A Home Full of Cherished Memories
The daughter of the late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne made this emotional disclosure during her participation in Omaze's Homes That Made Me series this week. Kelly described the California residence as "one of the best places we ever lived," emphasizing that it holds a treasure trove of precious memories with her father.
"I have such fond memories of it, because that house changed my life and we had a lot of fun," Kelly stated regarding the property. "We've asked about ten times if we can buy it back and they keep saying no, even though they're never even there, the people who currently own it. But it was a great house."
The Property's Notable History
The six-bedroom, nine-bathroom gated mansion, which served as the primary filming location for The Osbournes from 2002 to 2005, was eventually sold to pop superstar Christina Aguilera in 2007. Four years later in 2011, the property was placed back on the market, though its current ownership status remains with parties unwilling to negotiate with the Osbourne family.
Personal Struggles and Recent Developments
This revelation about the family home comes amidst a challenging period for Kelly Osbourne. Last week, the television personality treated herself to a new tattoo following news of her surprising split from fiancé Sid Wilson. She shared a glimpse of her new ink from London tattoo artist friend Luigi, featuring an orange lily next to a Peter Pan design with the word "boy" on her ribs.
The Instagram post was accompanied by the song You Can Fly from the Disney movie, and Kelly tagged her close friend Kiinicki, a non-binary hairdresser who has reportedly become a "shoulder to cry on" for the star since her father's passing.
The End of an Engagement
Last Monday, the Daily Mail revealed that Kelly has ended her engagement to Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson as she continues to grapple with the death of her legendary father. Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath frontman, died in July last year at age 76, just two weeks after performing a farewell concert in his hometown of Birmingham.
The couple quietly concluded their engagement merely seven months after Wilson proposed to Osbourne at her late father's final Black Sabbath concert in Birmingham last July. Insiders close to the star told the Daily Mail she has endured a "difficult" month, coping with the separation while focusing on being the best mother possible to their son, who is named after his father.
"Kelly and Sid have decided to call off their engagement," a source revealed. "Kelly has been struggling following the loss of her father. The grieving process has been incredibly difficult, and she's been doing everything she can to cope. In truth, she and Sid have been facing challenges in their relationship for some time, and things were not as they appeared."
A Relationship Timeline
Kelly was first introduced to Wilson when Slipknot toured with Ozzfest, the music festival founded by her parents. On Valentine's Day 2022, she shared a post of the couple passionately kissing, captioned: "After 23 years of friendship, I can't believe where we have ended up. You are my best friend, my soulmate, and I am so deeply in love with you, Sidney George Wilson."
They welcomed their son, Sid, later that year, and the family had been living together on a farm in Iowa. Kelly was last pictured with Sid at the Grammy Awards in February and, since then, has only made public appearances with friends or her mother, Sharon.
Wilson proposed to Kelly backstage at the Black Sabbath show, in front of her entire family, including Ozzy, Sharon, and her brother Jack, presenting her with a substantial diamond ring. Kelly later said she had "no clue" the moment was coming.
Despite these personal challenges, sources indicate that Kelly remains sober and is now concentrating on herself and her role as a mother moving forward, even as she continues to cherish memories of the family home that played such a significant role in their public and private lives.
