Kelly Osbourne has opened up in an emotional and raw revelation about the profound grief she experienced following the death of her legendary father, Ozzy Osbourne. The 41-year-old reality star confessed that she sought comfort by sleeping in her dad's bed in the immediate aftermath of his passing.
A Family's Shared Grief
The poignant confession was made during a comeback episode of the family's podcast, where Kelly appeared alongside her mother Sharon and brother Jack. The conversation turned deeply personal as Sharon admitted she "hates going to bed at night" and "hates going into an empty room" since the loss of her husband of decades.
Kelly responded with her own vulnerable admission, revealing the extent of her support for her mother. "I mean, I slept with you for the first two months so that you weren't on your own," Kelly shared, before adding that she eventually stepped back, feeling her mother needed space. This act of solidarity highlighted the family's close bond as they navigated their collective loss.
The One Resentment
As the discussion continued, Kelly became tearful, explaining that the mornings have become the "worst time" for her. She then revealed a specific, painful regret that has lingered since her father's death.
"There is one resentment I have and that is I always heard dad going down the stairs in the morning and the first thing I always said to him was 'Morning dad, I love you!' and I'd call out and he'd say 'I love you more...' and walk down the stairs," Kelly recounted. "But on the morning that he passed, I didn't say it."
Sharon was quick to comfort her daughter, insisting, "But he knew. He knew. He knew so much. One thing Ozzy was great and a master of acting not dumb, but checked out, and he was a master of that, and he wasn't. He knew everything that was going on. Everything!"
Individual Paths Through Mourning
Jack Osbourne, who is soon to appear on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here in Australia, offered a different perspective on his grieving process. He explained that he has found some solace in solitude.
"I have found alone time has been helpful," Jack shared. "Not a huge amount, but I've been going up to Idaho and had a few days up there when I was alone and it was nice. It's nice to kind of just be. There's a lot to do, you know? It's dad. I've said this a thousand times to us that he left us a huge world, you know, and we have to we have to pick up the flag."
The former Black Sabbath star, Ozzy Osbourne, died in July 2025 at the age of 76. His passing came after numerous health issues, just weeks after his final concert in his hometown of Birmingham. A family friend revealed that Ozzy had returned to Britain to live in Buckinghamshire, a home Sharon had prepared for him, and that he was surrounded by his children in his final days.
The official family statement, released on July 22, 2025, read: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love." The statement was signed by Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis.
