Lee Andrews, the husband of former glamour model Katie Price, has been accused of attempting to scam people while incarcerated in Al Awir prison in Dubai. The allegations emerged after a fan named David claimed he was contacted by someone purporting to be Andrews' business manager, who requested a £5,000 investment.
David told The Sun that he messaged Andrews' Facebook account as a joke on May 20, saying he had money to invest. He was surprised to receive a response on June 3 from a person claiming to be Lee's business manager, Robert Davis. The individual sent an AI-generated image of a bald man in an office and asked for David's phone number.
After providing his number, David received a WhatsApp message from a British number with a profile picture of Andrews. The person asked him to transfer money to a personal account under a different name, citing that the company's accounts were still being set up. Alternatively, they offered to receive the money via Western Union to a woman in Mississippi.
When David questioned whether Andrews was in jail, the response claimed that Andrews was not imprisoned but had a misunderstanding with his wife, Katie Price. Price visited Andrews in Dubai last week and stated she would not pay to secure his release, despite earlier suggesting a six-figure sum might be required.
