Katie Price Denies Plans to Move to Dubai with Husband Lee Andrews
Katie Price has firmly stated that she will not be moving to Dubai with her husband, Lee Andrews, despite his assertions that he purchased a £36 million home there for them. The former glamour model, aged 47, surprised fans by marrying Andrews, a 42-year-old self-proclaimed businessman, in Dubai in January after knowing him for just ten days.
Family Concerns and Financial Doubts
Despite her family expressing worries, several of Andrews' ex-partners making serious accusations, and numerous claims about his finances, business acumen, and celebrity connections being debunked as false, Price remains convinced that Andrews is genuine. In a recent update on Monday, she shared a YouTube video, which has since been deleted, clarifying her stance, as reported by The Sun.
She said: 'I don't know why people think I'm moving to Dubai. My family's here. The husband is there, but the husband come here and I can go to Dubai when I can.' Price added, 'It's a lot of hoo-ha,' dismissing the speculation surrounding her relocation plans.
Trust and Due Diligence
This announcement follows Price revealing that she has so much trust in her new husband that she declined to sign a prenuptial agreement before their whirlwind wedding. Insisting she is 'not stupid,' she claimed Andrews has shown her documents to verify his wealth and proof of purchase for the £36 million Dubai home, which he allegedly paid for in cash. Price also stated she conducted due diligence by speaking to his father and his Russian ex-wife, Cezara, declaring that Andrews 'ticks every box.'
The besotted mother-of-five expressed to The Sun: 'I thought I'd been in love before but this feels different. It's not even about lust, it's just instant connection on all levels. I fell in love with him long before I had sex with him.' She explained they first connected after Andrews appeared as a suggested follow on Instagram, leading to daily messaging for up to five hours before meeting in person in Dubai.
Family Reactions and Support
However, her loved ones were reportedly blindsided by the rapid marriage and have expressed concerns, with some fearing it might be a potential scam. Price dismissed these worries, asserting that she is not a child and that her life is unconventional, so they should 'let me be me.' She acknowledged their feelings, saying: 'Of course my family are going to worry, I wouldn't expect anything different. They love me and they've seen me go through so much heartache, and the most horrific times.'
Price's sister, Sophie, has hinted at her disapproval, pausing their podcast and sharing cryptic social media posts. In January, she posted a video of British fields with the caption: 'This and never stepping foot in Dubai,' after describing a difficult week following the wedding news. Last month, she reposted a clip discussing family support during tough times, ending with: 'I'm not going to try and change you. I just hope you come to your senses at some point. But I'll be with you and I'll be supporting you.'
While Price's five children have yet to meet Andrews, her eldest, Princess, 18, and Junior, 20, stated on This Morning last month that the family is 'happy as long as she's happy.' Junior added: 'Our mum is her own person, she's her own woman, she's going to do what she's going to do and at the end of the day, we're supportive of her as long as she's happy.'
Legal and Travel Issues
Andrews and Price maintain they are deeply in love, with plans for him to visit the UK for a larger wedding with family and friends, despite claims from his ex, Alana Percival, that he is legally bound to the UAE. Andrews has presented himself as a successful business mogul, but the Daily Mail revealed he was banned from leaving Dubai after spending three weeks in a UAE jail for allegedly forging his ex-girlfriend's signature to secure a £200,000 loan. He allegedly applied for a mortgage in personal trainer Dina Taji's name without her consent last year.
Andrews told the Daily Mail it was 'complete b******s' that he couldn't leave. Since their wedding, Price has returned home alone twice, despite Andrews promising to join her both times. There were also claims of a honeymoon together, but they remained in Dubai.
Current Travel Plans Amid Regional Conflict
This week, Andrews revealed on social media that Price is returning to Dubai via Oman, where he will pick her up, amid Middle East tensions following US and Israeli strikes on Iran. He said: 'The flights have started to open. The flights are a bit backed up, but if not you can always go through Oman, it is next door and one of the neighbouring countries. I'm not going to tell you all my plans but Katie would fly there and I would go to Oman and pick her up and bring her home because that's what you do when you are married and in love, you try everything right? Or have I got that wrong?'
The UAE's government travel advice warns: 'Due to the volatile security situation in the region and military strikes in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), we've raised our level of advice for the UAE to do not travel. The UAE airspace may open or close at short notice, impacting flights at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports. Retaliatory strikes are occurring across the Middle East region following military strikes on Iran. Military conflict in the region may result in widespread movement restrictions, and other travel disruptions.'
