Katie Price has confirmed that a documentary about her husband Lee Andrews is in development, while also admitting that her family continues to refuse to meet him. The 48-year-old former glamour model married the businessman in January, just days after their first meeting, shocking friends and relatives by flying to Dubai and getting engaged to a man she met on Instagram.
Marriage and Turbulence
Katie and Lee exchanged vows a few days later, but their six months of marriage have been turbulent. Lee recently vanished and was found to be imprisoned in Dubai. Initially, Katie claimed he had been abducted after she received alarming messages before his scheduled flight to the UK, where he was set to appear on Good Morning Britain for their first joint TV interview in May.
Despite the challenges, Katie has remained devoted. She posted on social media after their reunion in Dubai: "Forever @wesleeandrews best husband in the world, completes me in every f***** up way. Met my perfect match! And nothing will defy us!"
Documentary Plans
Following the launch of her new Sky documentary series, Katie hinted at more projects. Speaking on the Reign podcast, she revealed: "There will be a documentary coming out about Lee, and he knows about it. He'll be appearing in it and yes, there is scandal around me - there always is. Not only now, there's years of it." She added: "With Lee, it's not fair to talk about him without him being here to have his right of reply. But I am really happy." Details about the broadcaster or release date remain unconfirmed.
Family Refusal to Meet Lee
During an appearance on This Morning on July 8, Katie explained her family's reaction: "They're like: 'Why? Why has she gone off and married him? What an idiot she is. What is she thinking?' It is making headlines and I've said to Lee: 'You are not helping yourself.' I told him when he came out of prison: 'Don't go on socials! Just leave it, give yourself a break,' but he don't listen."
She continued: "I've just got back from Dubai. I know a lot that other people don't [but I know] it [the marriage] looks so messy out there. People don't believe you were kidnapped ... they think it's all a joke. It's not really fair on me, because it doesn't look good on me."
Katie added: "My family don't want nothing to do with him. And you can't blame them because of what's out there... I want them to [meet him] but at the moment they're like no. Because they are protecting me ... And I love that, my family friends, they're all protecting me. Men have been the downfall of my life, they're protecting me because they don't want another one to use me, break me, all of that ... Yes, I married him quickly, but I am so protective that I won't let a man hurt me, break me, destroy me again."
