Katie Price has urged young women to avoid cosmetic procedures in their early 20s, warning that such surgeries can be 'damaging to your body'. The 45-year-old model and TV personality, who has undergone multiple procedures herself, said she did not start work on her face until her 40s and only had a boob job earlier.
Speaking on the podcast 'How To Fail With Elizabeth Day', Price said: 'I didn't start doing my face until I was in my 40s. I had a boob job, but I didn't even have fillers.' She added that she did not have Botox until she was 27 or 28, and after trying lip fillers when they were less advanced, she looked 'like a duck' and eased off.
Price, who has five children, said the painful recovery process from her surgeries had 'put them off for life'. She emphasised that people only see the before and after, not the pain, cleaning, stitches and bed rest involved. 'I would love to educate people about it. It's damaging to your body. I've had so many anaesthetics,' she said.
The star also reflected on her own motivations, comparing choosing plastic surgery to 'going shopping'. She admitted sometimes wondering if people stare because she looks 'plastic' or 'good'. Price criticised the trend of young women in their early 20s getting fillers, lip enhancements and breast implants, saying: 'Everyone looks like aliens these days.'
Price, who was declared bankrupt for a second time earlier this month, also discussed her recent ADHD diagnosis, which she believes explains some of her poor choices. She said: 'I've made the wrong choices, done the wrong things, when really I'm just innocent, gullible.' She attributed her financial problems to the men in her life, describing her marriages to Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler as 'just rebounds'.
