Actress Kat Graham has joyfully announced the arrival of her first child, a baby boy, with husband Bryant Wood. The 36-year-old star, best known for her role in The Vampire Diaries, took to Instagram on Thursday to share heartwarming snaps of the newborn, revealing his unique and sweet name.
A Radiant Announcement
In the adorable photos, Kat looked radiant and glowing as she cradled her newborn son in his nursery. The couple, who married in 2023, introduced their baby to the world with the caption: 'Welcome to the world Prospero “Spero” Nyemah Wood'. This announcement comes after the pair first shared news of their pregnancy back in December, marking a new chapter in their lives together.
Pregnancy Reveal and Family Moments
Back in December, Kat Graham unveiled her pregnancy through a collection of black and white Polaroid photos that showcased her burgeoning baby bump. She accompanied the images with a simple yet excited caption: 'We’re having a baby!!! ✨'. In some photos, she cradled her belly while wearing a ribbed turtleneck sweater, while others teased a low-cut satin bra, adding a touch of glamour to the intimate reveal.
Her husband, Bryant Wood, joined in the celebration, posing sweetly with his head on his wife's stomach and chest. The upload was set to Rick James' 1981 hit song Give It To Me Baby, adding a nostalgic and joyful soundtrack to the moment. Kat re-shared the post via Instagram Stories, reiterating: 'Baby on board!', while Bryant shared a video snippet of the couple dancing in their kitchen as they prepared a Thanksgiving meal, captioned: 'Happy Thanksgiving from the Wood Family! We are having a baby!'.
Celebrating Love and Culture
Kat and Bryant's journey to parenthood follows their unique wedding story. The couple initially eloped in 2023 in a private ceremony with only their dogs as witnesses, which Kat described as 'intimate and romantic in its own way'. However, they decided to have a second wedding on their two-year anniversary in August to celebrate with family and friends.
She explained to People magazine: 'We really wanted to have a second wedding because, technically, it was our first wedding. This time we wanted to celebrate our love surrounded by our family and friends.' The nuptials, held at a private estate in Mountain Center, California, were attended by 120 guests and featured a blend of their cultural backgrounds.
Bryant, a wellness instructor, emphasized the importance of fun and playfulness, with a 'mini ranch' constructed that included a mechanical bull for a contest he proudly won. Kat highlighted their cultural roots, saying: 'It was also really important that we brought in both of our cultural roots — African music because my family is from Liberia, West Africa, and Italian food to honor Bryant’s Sicilian heritage.' This celebration of love and diversity now extends to their growing family with the arrival of baby Prospero.
