Star and Mother Subdue Armed Intruder in Terrifying Ordeal

South Korean entertainer Nana, known for her roles in Netflix series and as a former member of the K-Pop group After School, has been hospitalised following a violent confrontation with an armed robber. The incident occurred at her home in the suburbs of Seoul in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The Early Morning Attack

At approximately 6am on Saturday, a man in his 30s armed with a weapon forced his way into Nana's residence. The intruder threatened both the 34-year-old star, whose real name is Im Jin-ah, and her mother, demanding money. A physical struggle ensued as Nana and her mother bravely fought off the attacker.

During the confrontation, the situation became critically dangerous. Nana's agency, Sublime, later confirmed that her mother suffered serious injuries and lost consciousness, requiring immediate medical attention. Nana herself sustained physical injuries while attempting to escape the crisis.

Heroic Struggle Leads to Arrest

Despite the threat posed by the armed assailant, Nana and her mother managed to overpower the intruder and subdue him until police arrived at the scene. A local detective confirmed the arrest, stating the man had been detained on charges of aggravated robbery after attempting to steal valuables from the property.

Both Nana and her mother were subsequently rushed to hospital for treatment. Their agency has stated that both currently require treatment and absolute rest to recover from their physical and emotional ordeal.

From K-Pop to Netflix Stardom

Nana first rose to prominence as a member of the popular K-Pop girl group After School. Following the group's disbandment in 2015, she successfully transitioned to acting, gaining significant popularity for her roles in crime dramas such as Kill It and Justice in 2019.

More recently, she starred in the South Korean Netflix series Glitch, which was released in October 2022, expanding her international profile. She had also released her first solo album just this past September, marking a continued presence in the music industry alongside her acting career.
