TV presenter and DJ Ashley James has opened up about her romantic history, including experimenting with women and a fling with American rapper Ginuwine. The former Made in Chelsea star discussed her sexuality on the By The Way podcast, recalling kissing girls on nights out in Newcastle as a teenager.
James said she initially felt embarrassed about the encounters but later realised she enjoyed them. 'The guys would pay attention, then the girl would almost reject it as just this thing we did to get attention from men,' she told host Harriet Rose.
In 2018, while appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, James struck up a romance with fellow housemate Ginuwine. After leaving the show, she told the Mirror she had hoped the relationship would continue but later realised she could not trust him. 'I just think I'd rather be single and happy than be with someone I couldn't trust,' she said.
Since 2019, James has been in a relationship with City worker Tommy Andrews, whom she matched with on Hinge. The couple have two children: son Alfie, born in January 2021, and daughter Ada, born in March 2023. Despite their strong relationship, James has no plans to marry, calling weddings a 'waste of money' and 'old-fashioned' in interviews with OK! and iNews.
