Neighbour Emma Duncan, writing for The Times, described being "woken in the middle of the night" by the disturbance. She observed a group of men on motorbikes encircling a car with its alarm blaring, with one individual seated in the driver's seat shouting, "I can't f****** start it." The car boot was reportedly damaged during the failed theft attempt.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed they are investigating a series of vehicle-related offences in the Vauxhall area. Between March 26 and 28, three reports were filed regarding damage to vehicles in attempts to gain entry, highlighting a concerning pattern of neighbourhood crime.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: "Tackling car theft and other neighbourhood crime remains a priority for the Met. We have strengthened neighbourhood policing, with more officers focused on identifying and targeting the most prolific offenders who cause the greatest harm to communities." They added that across London, vehicle crime, including theft and damage, has decreased by nearly 15 percent compared to the same period last year.
