Former Married At First Sight star Jessika Power has revealed she spent part of the festive season battling a nasty bout of illness, which she believes was food poisoning. The 33-year-old reality TV personality took to her Instagram Stories on Boxing Day to share her discomfort with her followers.
Festive Illness And An Unwelcome Message
In a video posted from her couch, Jessika appeared in a summery floral gown, looking impeccably styled despite feeling unwell. She directly addressed her fans, comparing her physical sickness to the emotional upset caused by a message from a former partner.
"The level of sick I feel right now," Jessika began, before adding, "Well, it's nowhere near the level of sick I felt last night when my ex messaged me Merry Christmas. But still... ugh. Food poisoning is not fun. It's not fun."
While she did not identify the ex in question, her most recent public relationship was with a man named Ryan. That coupling ended in March, just weeks after they had gone Instagram official. Jessika explained at the time that the split occurred after texts Ryan sent to another woman were leaked, though she clarified they were on a break and no infidelity took place.
A Recent Hospital Visit And Viral Diagnosis
This festive malaise came shortly after a separate health scare that required a hospital visit. Jessika had previously posted a concerning clip showing her lying on a hospital gurney with tubes attached and a visible cut and bruise over her eye.
After sparking concern, she provided an update, explaining the cut was a minor injury sustained while dog-sitting. The more serious issue was a diagnosed viral infection. "The doctor said I have a viral infection that basically attacks and inflames the stomach and intestines," Jessika wrote, detailing three days of intense pain and vomiting that finally drove her to seek medical help.
She expressed relief that it was "nothing too serious" and stated her focus was on rest and recuperation, hoping to be "100% in a few days."
Moving On From Past Relationships
Jessika's love life has been a public feature of her social media. Prior to her relationship with Ryan, she was with British DJ Brent Anthony, calling time on that romance. She went Instagram official with Ryan just four months later, sharing poolside photos in a red bikini.
