Jay Leno Spotted with Swollen Cheek and Bruised Finger in LA After String of Accidents
Jay Leno seen with swollen face and bruised nail in LA

Legendary comedian and former Tonight Show host Jay Leno has been spotted in public with visible signs of a potential new mishap, showing a swollen left cheek and a bruised fingernail during a casual lunch outing in Los Angeles.

Visible Signs of a Possible Mishap

On Tuesday, the 75-year-old television icon was seen in Los Angeles, with the left side of his face appearing noticeably puffy. As he clutched a beverage, an unmissable black nail and redness were visible on his middle finger. The cause of these new marks remains unclear, as representatives for Leno have not yet responded to requests for comment from outlets including The Daily Mail.

A History of Serious Accidents

The latest sighting has raised eyebrows given Leno's well-documented and unfortunate history of being accident-prone. His most recent major incident occurred in 2024, when he tumbled 60 feet down a hill in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

That fall resulted in heavy facial bruising, a broken wrist, and an eye patch. Leno later described the harrowing event to Inside Edition, stating, 'I hit a bunch of rocks, it was 60 feet. I broke my wrist. Lost my nail on the finger, I'm all black and blue... The rock hit me in the eye, I'm fine!'

Previous Garage Fire Ordeal

Just two years prior, in November 2022, Leno suffered severe burns in a terrifying incident at his personal garage. A vintage 1907 steam engine he was working on exploded, spraying him with gasoline and igniting a fire.

He was hospitalised and transferred to the Grossman Burn Center. A spokesperson noted he was in 'good humour' and receiving excellent care. Leno credited a friend named Dave with saving his life by smothering the flames. He explained the accident happened while he was repairing a clogged fuel line.

While the origin of his latest visible injuries is unknown, the combination of his recent public appearance and his past dangerous encounters continues to draw public concern for the beloved comedian's wellbeing.
