Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was seen enjoying a festive shopping trip with his daughter Tilly this week, on a mission to find a last-minute wedding gift for his eldest daughter, Holly. The bride-to-be is set to marry Olympic champion Adam Peaty in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey on December 27.
A Bond Street Mission for the Perfect Gift
On Tuesday, just days before the wedding, the 59-year-old doting father and his 24-year-old daughter, chef Tilly, braved the Christmas shopping crowds on London's exclusive Bond Street. Their destination was the iconic jewellers, Tiffany & Co., where Gordon was reportedly seeking a very special piece of jewellery to give Holly before he walks her down the aisle.
Eyewitnesses noted that Gordon "couldn't wipe the smile off his face" during the search for the perfect present. The father-daughter duo were later seen clutching hands as they left the luxury store, having successfully secured the goods.
Pre-Wedding Celebrations Overshadowed by Family Rift
Despite the joyous gift-shopping, the lead-up to the wedding has been marred by a very public and bitter family feud. The tensions came to a head last month when it was revealed that Peaty had uninvited most of his family from the wedding ceremony.
The rift reportedly began when Adam's mother, Caroline Peaty, was not invited to Holly's swanky hen party at Soho Farmhouse in November. The event was attended by Holly's mother Tana, Adam's sister Bethany, and even Victoria Beckham. In the wake of the snub, a public war of words erupted, with Adam's aunt Louise making shock claims on social media.
It has since been reported that Caroline Peaty has been barred from the wedding service entirely. According to sources, tensions may have started earlier, at the couple's engagement party last December, which was filmed for Gordon Ramsay's upcoming Netflix documentary. Guests were required to sign non-disclosure agreements and hand in their phones for the filmed event.
A Night of Fine Dining Before the Big Day
Attempting to brush aside the drama, the bride-to-be enjoyed a pre-wedding meal with friends on Monday evening at her father's Mayfair restaurant, Gordon's Lucky Cat. Holly was joined by Eve Winnington, wife of Australian swimmer Elijah Winnington and a close friend of the couple.
Winnington shared snaps from the night on Instagram, including a bathroom selfie with Gordon Ramsay. Holly appeared to favour the £135 seafood platter, featuring a selection of sushi, salted edamame, and sweet and sour prawns. A lavish meal from the restaurant's 'chef's table' can cost up to £180 per person.
As the week progresses, all eyes are on Bath Abbey, which will be closed to the public for the entire day on the 27th for the private ceremony. While the Ramsay family celebrates, the absence of the groom's mother serves as a stark reminder of the personal divisions that even the most glittering of celebrity weddings cannot always conceal.
