A Good Morning Britain panellist has come under fire after slamming the Prince and Princess of Wales over their decision to send Prince George to Eton College. Narinder Kaur, who contributes to the ITV show, took to social media on June 16 to express her frustration, branding the royal couple 'entitled' and 'out of touch.'
Kaur's Outburst on Social Media
In a series of posts on X, Kaur fumed: 'Prince George should be attending a state school. No question about it! Nothing says 'out of touch' quite like sending your child to Eton. A school for the privileged few, producing generation after generation of entitled elites. He's meant to be a future king – how is Eton representative of the working class?!'
She continued: 'I thought William and Kate were supposed to be modernising the monarchy? Yet when it comes to their own son, it's straight to Eton? Honestly unbelievable.'
Backlash from the Public
However, Kaur's comments left a sour taste among many social media users, who argued that security concerns are paramount. One user fumed: 'In this day and age it's important to keep the future monarch safe above all else… what about Starmer's kids, you're not calling them out? It's simple, doesn't fit your narrative does it?'
Another posted: 'Who are you to decide what they should do with their kids? By the way, this money could hardly buy several expensive outfits that many people you admire buy.'
A third pointed out: 'He is the future king. Sending him to a normal school would distract the kids and make their lives more difficult because of the added security that would be required.'
A fourth social media user added: 'Our future King going to a comprehensive school? Don't talk b******s. Would you say the same if it was Harry and Meg's kids? Will they be going to a comprehensive school?'
Context and Reactions
The debate over Prince George's education comes as the royal family faces ongoing scrutiny over their choices. Kaur's remarks have sparked a wider conversation about the role of the monarchy and the expectations placed on royal children. While some agree with her sentiments, many defend the Waleses' decision, citing security and tradition.
This is not the first time Kaur has stirred controversy with her opinions, but the backlash this time has been particularly intense, with many accusing her of being out of touch with the realities of royal life.
