British Holidaymaker, 44, Tragically Dies After Collapsing on Sunbed at Popular Greek Beach Resort
British Woman Dies on Sunbed During Greek Island Holiday

A summer holiday turned to tragedy for a British family after a 44-year-old woman tragically died after collapsing on a sunbed at a popular beach bar on the Greek island of Skiathos.

The incident occurred on Saturday at the Ambelaki Beach Bar in the resort of Koukounaries, a spot famed for its pristine sands and pine tree backdrop. Sunbathers watched in horror as the woman, who has not been formally named, suddenly fell unconscious.

Patrons and staff immediately raised the alarm, triggering a major emergency response. Two doctors who were coincidentally on the beach rushed to her aid and performed CPR in a desperate attempt to revive her.

An ambulance and a team of paramedics arrived swiftly at the scene and continued the life-saving efforts for over half an hour. Despite their exhaustive attempts, they were unable to resuscitate her and she was pronounced dead at the beach.

Her body was subsequently transferred to the island's general hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of her sudden death. Local media reports suggest the woman was holidaying with her family when the catastrophe struck.

The tragic event has sent a wave of shock through the tight-knit community of Skiathos and serves as a sobering reminder of the unforeseen tragedies that can occur, even in the most idyllic of holiday settings.
