Spice Girl Emma Bunton has shown her genuine, kind-hearted nature in a real-world test of celebrity patience, according to a fan who met her during a street mobbing. The encounter, recently recalled online, proves her beloved 'Baby Spice' persona is far from just a stage act.
A Patient Star Amid the Chaos
A fan took to a celebrity forum to share a memory sparked by seeing Bunton, 49, on ITV's Loose Women. They recounted a time when the singer was "absolutely lovely" while being swarmed by multiple teenagers asking for photos. "She politely posed for lots of photos and we kept passing cameras and she was very patient," the fan explained, as reported by the Mail.
They added, "Not everyone would have spent that long with about 6 cameras and a bunch of giggling teenage girls." The fan concluded that seeing Bunton on television reminded them of how "charming and friendly" she was during that hectic encounter.
Fans Believe the Hype
Another supporter chimed in, saying they completely believed the account. They pondered Bunton's consistently calm and pleasant demeanour on television, noting they had never seen her display arrogance. "From your post, it would seem this is the true her," the fan stated.
While still in the public eye, Bunton has stepped back from the dizzying fame of the Spice Girls' 90s peak. She now focuses on select media appearances, her Sunday evening slot on Heart Radio, and her eco nappy brand, Kit & Kin. She is also a devoted mother to her two teenage sons, Beau Lee Jones, 18, and Tate Lee Jones, 14.
A Lasting Love Story
The popstar shares her children with husband Jade Jones, whom she married in 2021 after a long and winding romance. The couple first started dating in 1998, split in 1999, and reunited for good in 2004 after Bunton had a brief fling with footballer Rio Ferdinand.
Jade proposed in 2006, and after a 15-year engagement, they finally tied the knot in an intimate ceremony. Emma stunned as a boho bride in a white minidress and flower crown, while Jade wore a tan Gucci blazer. Sharing the news on social media, she simply wrote: "Mr and Mrs Jones!"
In a 2008 chat with Closer magazine, Bunton emphasised her desire for privacy, saying, "We don't need a wedding to justify our relationship." However, she admitted she couldn't have eloped, as her family would have been upset.
This latest fan story reinforces the image of Emma Bunton as one of pop's most enduringly sweet and patient stars, living up to the nickname fans gave her decades ago.
