Australian music sensation Delta Goodrem has made a surprising revelation about her spectacular wedding day, confessing there was one tradition she firmly decided against despite her professional singing career.
The One Thing Missing From Her Big Day
In a candid interview with Herald Sun, the Born To Try hitmaker disclosed that she had no intention of singing during her nuptials to musician Matthew Copley. The couple tied the knot in June during a breathtaking ceremony in Malta that spared no expense.
"I had no intention of singing," Delta stated when discussing her wedding plans. "We are blessed to get to do what we love on stage and sharing that is the best ever, so I didn't feel the need to do that at the wedding."
The 41-year-old singer added a thoughtful explanation for her decision: "All my family and friends, I ask them to come to shows all the time, they don't need that for my wedding."
A Fairytale Maltese Celebration
The wedding festivities unfolded across two stunning Maltese locations. The couple exchanged vows at the historic St. Paul's Cathedral in Mdina before moving their celebrations to the beautiful Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar.
Delta shared her emotional reflections on the day through Instagram, writing: "June 2025, Husband and Wife. It was more magical than we both could have dreamed."
She continued with heartfelt sentiment: "We said I do under the Maltese skies in a family fairytale wedding brought to life by so many angels surrounding us. We are holding on to every memory from that moment, the love, the laughter, the happy tears and dancing till the sun came up."
The Stunning Wedding Attire
Delta's first look featured an exquisite off-the-shoulder wedding gown with a daring sweetheart neckline, created by South Australian fashion designer Paul Vasileff. The magnificent French tulle gown showcased intricate lattice detailing and an impressive two-and-a-half metre train.
The singer completed her bridal look with dazzling diamonds from ANTON Jewellery, creating a truly regal appearance.
Delta revealed that she collaborated with the designer for three months to create a gown that felt "super personal and very special." She told Vogue Australia: "Paul and I connected the second I got engaged, and we started working together immediately."
The extraordinary gown required approximately 500 hours of meticulous craftsmanship and included personalised touches honouring the couple's romance. Embroidered details incorporated their wedding date, a pair of swans, and cherubs into the fabric.
Her beauty team included makeup artist Noni Smith and hairstylist Michael Brennan, while her groom Matthew Copley opted for sophisticated head-to-toe Tom Ford attire.
The entire celebration was flawlessly executed by wedding planners Sarah Young Luxury Events and Weddings, alongside Wonder Event, creating what Delta described as her perfect fairytale day.
