Count Binface, the intergalactic space warrior and novelty politician, has unveiled a musical manifesto for the Makerfield by-election, following Reform UK's rap video for its candidate Rob Kenyon. The video, posted on X, features Binface singing over a tune inspired by Marc Cohn's 'Walking in Memphis', with lyrics targeting political figures and promoting his own pledges.
A Banger of a Political Broadcast
In the video, Binface stands on Ashton-in-Makerfield high street and outside Galloways Bakers, crooning about his policies. He accuses Andy Burnham and Wes Streeting of launching a 'palace coup', mentions Nigel Farage's £5m crypto donation, and jokes about the Greens. His pledges include capping 99 Flake ice creams at 99 pence and reviving Ceefax. 'I'm the sane one this time,' he sings, urging voters to 'show the b*****ds how you feel'.
Public Reaction
The video has garnered over 42,000 views and widespread praise. Dennis Noel Kavanagh called it 'the single best political ad for this byelection', while Jennifer Stewart noted it was 'a banger' with a funny punchline. User 'Happy Hiker' encouraged Makerfield residents to vote for Binface to protest against other parties that 'promise much but never deliver'.
Last week, Reform UK released Rob Kenyon's campaign soundtrack 'White Van Wave', a montage of him driving his van and working as a plumber, with lyrics about a 'David vs Goliath' battle. Binface's full lyrics include lines about Keir Starmer's performance, his own candidacy, and promises to nationalise Adele.
Binface concludes: 'Put on my rocket shoes and I boarded my plane, touched down in a land called Makerfield, to make it great again.'
