Beverley Callard, the 69-year-old Coronation Street star, has provided an update on her health after a recent scare. The actress, who revealed her early-stage breast cancer diagnosis in February, described her latest hospital visit as 'chaotic'.
In an Instagram video, Callard detailed her day of tests and scans, followed by a meeting with the radiotherapy team. She said: 'Well that was a long day! Lots of tests and scans and more tests… followed by a rather chaotic meeting of the radiotherapy team! The plan is starting to come together but I’m just anxious to get started now…'
During the video, she explained that her blood pressure was high due to nerves, and she underwent blood tests and oxygen level checks. Later, she confirmed that a suspected blood clot was ruled out, with an ultrasound revealing a cyst behind her knee, which she noted is 'quite common'.
Callard also shared that she visited St Luke's to see a radiotherapist, Professor Armstrong, who informed her she will require 10 days of radiotherapy. The treatment is scheduled for five consecutive days, followed by a weekend break, then another five days, though the start date remains unconfirmed.
Fans have rallied in support, with one commenting: 'Bless you, we are all behind you for a speedy recovery.' Another wrote: 'You did the right thing getting it checked out. Glad it was a cyst and not a blood clot. Sending hugs and love to you.'
