Charlotte Church Digs Her Own Grave in Celebrity Traitors Shock

Fans of BBC's The Celebrity Traitors have hailed a scene from the first episode as 'TV gold', after Welsh singer Charlotte Church was seen digging her own grave with her bare hands. The 39-year-old was tasked with hunting for a shield buried in a grave to win immunity from the first murder, but her frantic efforts ultimately failed.

While other contestants used shovels, Church jumped into the hole in a white dress and dug with her bare hands. Despite her determination, she did not secure immunity, with Jonathan Ross, Joe Marler, Joe Wilkinson, Kate Garraway and Celia Imrie claiming the shields instead.

Viewers took to social media to praise Church's efforts. One wrote: 'Whoever put Charlotte Church's medal deep in that grave deserves a medal themselves.' Another added: 'Charlotte Church in a white dress digging her own grave is TV gold already.'

Later, host Claudia Winkleman selected Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr and singer Cat Burns as the traitors. Carr admitted to cameras: 'I have a sweating problem and I can't keep a secret. What am I going to do?'

The full line-up of 22 celebrities competing for a £100,000 prize for charity includes Alan Carr, Cat Burns, Celia Imrie, Charlotte Church, Clare Balding, David Olusoga, Joe Marler, Joe Wilkinson, Jonathan Ross, Kate Garraway, Lucy Beaumont, Mark Bonnar, Paloma Faith, Nick Mohammad, Niko Omilana, Ruth Codd, Stephen Fry, Tameka Empson and Tom Daley.
