Cardi B Pleads for Respect Amid Fan Backlash Over Stefon Diggs Romance
Cardi B Hits Back at Fan Abuse Over Stefon Diggs Relationship

Chart-topping rapper Cardi B has issued a heartfelt plea for her supporters to show more respect, after facing a torrent of online abuse concerning her high-profile relationship with American football star Stefon Diggs.

An Emotional Plea for Calm

The 33-year-old music artist, a native of New York's Washington Heights, posted a candid self-shot video on social media platform X in late December 2024. In the clip, she directly addressed the critical comments that had been escalating for several days. Cardi B asked her followers to 'calm down' and questioned the relentless negativity aimed at her personal life.

'Y'all need to calm down. Is y'all cool?' she stated in the video. 'Y'all been dragging me for three or four days and y'all been a little bit too mean. Like alright now. Y'all being a little bit too mean.'

She forcefully defended her current situation with Diggs, the father of her newborn son, emphasising that she cannot change the past. 'I can't change s***,' she continued. 'I can't go back in time. I already had a baby. Y'all want me to put my baby back in my p****?'

Stress Ahead of a Major Career Commitment

Cardi B seamlessly tied her request for a more supportive fanbase to the immense pressure she is under preparing for a significant upcoming tour, slated for 2026. She revealed the intense workload awaiting her, which is contributing to her stress levels.

'2026 is in a couple of days,' she said, referencing the fast-approaching new year. 'I have so much work to do once January starts that it's stressing me out. I'm going to be away from my babies, away from my personal life, away from my home.'

The rapper outlined a gruelling rehearsal schedule of 10-to-12 hours per day and expressed anxiety over unfinished production elements. She concluded her message by linking her need for personal peace to her professional output: 'I need my support system, my fans, to love me. I want y'all to enjoy to come to my tour, enjoy y'all self with me. Don't be dragging me. That's enough.'

Diggs' On-Field Success and Growing Family

The public appeal came just days after Cardi B was seen cheering on Stefon Diggs from the stands. Diggs, a wide receiver for the New England Patriots, had a standout performance in a dominant win over the New York Jets. His 80th reception of the season, achieved during that game, triggered a substantial $500,000 bonus as part of his lucrative three-year, $63 million contract.

The power couple, who began dating in October 2024, welcomed their first child together, a son, in November 2024. Diggs shared the news on social media, seemingly hinting at the baby's name with the comment 'Baby brim'. This child is Cardi B's fourth; she has three older children with her ex-partner, Offset. Diggs also has an eight-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

Cardi B's call for an end to the abuse highlights the intense scrutiny celebrity relationships face, and her desire to separate public commentary from her private family life and demanding career commitments.
