Speaking on her eponymous podcast this week, the 49-year-old former child star confessed that her journey to a 30th wedding anniversary has not been without significant challenges. '[There have been] lots of highs and there's been some really low lows,' she revealed. Cameron Bure described periods where the couple felt stuck, comparing it to sitting in a shallow valley. 'Where you're like, "This isn't the best, but that's just life." We'll just kind of go through it,' she explained.

'For us, we didn't have either the confidence or just the straight-up courage to be honest enough with each other to say the really hard things because I know they're gonna hurt your feelings,' she admitted. The couple's resilience was tested profoundly during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when Cameron Bure previously confessed they endured a 'really rough season' and doubted they would 'make it through.' The turning point came from an unexpected source: their own son.
Their eldest child, Lev, who is now 25 and vice president of the family's wine business, intervened. 'He preached, like, a 45-minute sermon on marriage to us. Just had his Bible open on the couch and just talked about it,' the producer-star of Ainsley McGregor Mysteries recalled. Lev challenged both parents, asking if they had given every possible ounce of grace and kindness to reconcile. The profound moment left Candace and Valeri reflecting, '"Huh, we raised some pretty good kids."'
