Callum Turner's Sweet Tribute to Fiancée Dua Lipa in NYC Streets
Callum Turner Poses by Dua Lipa Poster in NYC

In a heartwarming display of support for his famous fiancée, actor Callum Turner was spotted proudly posing beside a promotional poster of Dua Lipa in the streets of New York City this Wednesday.

A Public Declaration of Love

The 35-year-old British actor, currently filming his upcoming romantic comedy One Night Only in Manhattan, made time to stop beside the large advertisement featuring his pop star partner. Turner and Lipa, who is 30, began their romance in January 2024 and confirmed their engagement just five months later in June.

The sweet gesture comes at a busy time for both stars, with Lipa having recently launched her own makeup line and Turner deep in production for his new film. One Night Only has been shooting around New York City for several weeks, with Turner and his co-stars frequently seen on location.

From Near Misses to Forever

In a recent interview with The Times Style, Turner opened up about their unusual path to romance, revealing they had experienced "maybe two, three, four, five near misses over our time where we didn't meet" before finally connecting properly.

The actor vividly recalled their first proper meeting at a mutual friend's birthday drinks, where they discovered they were both reading the same novel - Hernan Diaz's Trust - and had both just completed the first chapter. "In the movie version of it I look up to the sky and I'm like, I hear you. I understand," Turner gushed about the magical moment.

He didn't hold back his admiration for the pop sensation, declaring "I just thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world" when they finally connected while both single.

Making Long-Distance Love Work

With Dua currently travelling across the United States for her Radical Optimism Tour, scheduled to conclude in December, and Callum filming in New York, the couple has developed strategies to maintain their connection across distances.

Turner revealed their simple but effective relationship motto: "it's never not worth it." He explained their approach: "Well FaceTime is a wonderful thing. And the other rule is that it's never not worth it - that's our slogan. If you can go for two days, just f***ing go."

The actor emphasized that tiredness shouldn't prevent them from seizing moments together, noting "because you're going to have a nice time and have a nice memory."

Dua confirmed their engagement to British Vogue during the summer, expressing her excitement about "this decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever." She described it as "a really special feeling."

In her August interview with Harper's Bazaar U.S., the pop star detailed "intensely falling" for Turner and her decision to embrace vulnerability in love despite finding it "so scary." She confessed: "I've spent a lot of time being guarded or protecting my heart, and so I'm letting go of that feeling."

Meanwhile, Turner's professional life continues to thrive with One Night Only, directed by Will Gluck of Anyone but You fame. The Universal Pictures film, which also stars Pete Davison as a detective, explores the story of two strangers seeking partners on the one night when premarital sex becomes legal. The project is already scheduled for theatrical release next summer.
