Burford Garden Centre, a large complex in the heart of the Cotswolds, has become an unexpected hotspot for A-list celebrities. The centre, run by the Johnson family, reportedly turned over nearly £20 million last year, selling items ranging from £70 trowels to £3,000 Tuscan olive trees.
High-profile visitors include Jay-Z and Beyoncé, who are said to be closing a deal on a 23-hectare plot near Wigginton. Local resident Gerry Barrago noted that his wife sees them at the garden centre regularly, though he admitted he had never heard of Beyoncé.
The Cotswolds' 'golden triangle' around Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Chipping Norton is home to other celebrities such as Jeremy Clarkson, the Beckhams, Kate Moss, Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, and Stella McCartney. Even US Vice-President JD Vance visited the area, opting for the Daylesford Organic farm shop instead.
The centre offers a range of upscale goods, including designer clothing, gourmet food, and decorative fountains, such as a zinc water feature for £2,095. Despite its high prices, the business model appears successful, attracting those seeking an idyllic English countryside experience.
