In a stunning public declaration, Brooklyn Beckham has launched an extraordinary attack on his world-famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham, accusing them of controlling his life and attempting to sabotage his marriage to Nicola Peltz.
A Bombshell Instagram Revelation
The 26-year-old son of the football icon and fashion designer took to Instagram on Monday night to share a six-page statement. In it, he declared he has no wish to reconcile with his family and is standing up for himself "for the first time in my life." This public airing of grievances marks a dramatic escalation in a rift that has seen Brooklyn and his wife, 31-year-old actress Nicola Peltz, snub major family events, including David's 50th birthday celebrations and his recent knighthood ceremony.
Brooklyn claimed he has been "controlled by a family that values public promotion above all else" and stated that only since being with Nicola has he found "peace and relief" after battling crippling anxiety for years.
Allegations of Wedding Sabotage and Public Humiliation
The lengthy post detailed a series of explosive allegations centred on his 2022 wedding and the subsequent fallout. Key claims include:
Victoria Beckham allegedly cancelled making Nicola's wedding dress at the "eleventh hour," forcing a last-minute scramble for a new gown. Brooklyn also accused his mother of hijacking his planned first dance with his new wife. He described how singer Marc Anthony called him to the stage at the wedding, where instead of his bride, his mother was waiting. "She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life," he wrote.
Further pre-weddition pressure involved his parents, he claimed, who repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe him into signing away the rights to his name weeks before the ceremony, a move he said would have affected him, Nicola, and their future children.
A Complete Family Breakdown and a Search for Peace
The statement outlined a complete breakdown in relations. Brooklyn claimed that when he and Nicola travelled to London for his father's birthday, they were "rejected for a week" in a hotel room, with David only agreeing to meet under the condition Nicola was not invited—a move Brooklyn called "a slap in the face." Later, when the Beckhams travelled to Los Angeles, they reportedly refused to see him at all.
He also alleged that his brothers were instructed to attack him on social media before blocking him last summer, and that his mother has "repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives" to cause discomfort.
Concluding his statement, Brooklyn Beckham painted a picture of a life finally free from familial pressure. "I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared," he stated. He and Nicola, he said, renewed their vows privately last year to create happier memories and now seek only "peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family," explicitly rejecting the "Brand Beckham" facade he claims prioritises public image above all else.
