Bam Margera Agrees to £2,500 Monthly Child Support in Legal Truce
Bam Margera to pay £2,5k monthly child support

In a significant legal development, former Jackass star Bam Margera has reached a settlement with his estranged wife, Nikki Boyd, agreeing to pay $2,500 (£2,000) per month in child support for their eight-year-old son, Phoenix.

A Settlement After Financial Turmoil

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the payments are scheduled to commence on 1 January. The agreement stipulates that Nikki Boyd will continue to provide and maintain health insurance coverage for their son. This outcome marks a dramatic reduction from Nikki's initial demand, where she sought $15,000 per month, arguing that Margera's net worth was approximately $55 million.

Her request was later revised to a surprisingly low $486 per month in June 2024, before both parties finally settled on the $2,500 figure. Court filings revealed a stark picture of Nikki's financial struggles. Her attorney stated that Margera was not covering expenses for Phoenix's education, childcare, or housing, and accused him of creating 'hurdles and roadblocks' during financial discovery.

Years of Personal and Legal Chaos

This legal truce follows years of highly publicised turmoil for the 46-year-old. Margera was fired from Jackass Forever in 2021 for allegedly breaching a wellness agreement. His troubles escalated in 2023 with two rapid-fire arrests: first for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, and weeks later for causing a drunken disturbance at a Burbank restaurant where Nikki and Phoenix were dining.

After a DUI parole violation, Margera was released from jail in September 2024 and entered short-term treatment. Nikki was awarded sole physical custody of Phoenix, with Margera granted only limited, supervised visitation. She had filed for legal separation in 2023, citing irreconcilable differences, while Margera contested the petition, insisting they were never legally married after a 2013 ceremony in Iceland he claimed was for publicity.

A Tentative Comeback and New Stability

Amid the chaos, Margera insists he is now sober, crediting his new wife, Dannii Marie, whom he married in 2024. He has claimed she made it clear that drinking would be treated 'basically the same as cheating.' Signs of a potential career revival emerged in May 2024 when he appeared healthy and upbeat at a launch event for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, sparking rumours of a professional return facilitated by Hawk himself.

His attorney, Michael T. van der Veen, stated that Margera had passed all drug and alcohol screenings for over a year and was 'back on the road to his successful career.' In a previous court hearing, Margera told a judge his legal troubles were a 'blessing in disguise' that allowed him to clean up his life. With a new marriage, a tentative career revival, and now a court-mandated child support agreement, the infamous wild child appears to be facing a rare moment of accountability.
