Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is facing a summer unlike any before, marked by isolation and loss of privilege. For the first time, he has no royal titles, no Windsor mansion, and faces an ongoing police investigation following his arrest in February for misconduct in public office. He has consistently denied all allegations.
Loss of Royal Privileges
Previously, Andrew could spend summers jetting overseas, hosting shooting weekends at his 30-room mansion, or riding horses on the Windsor Park Estate. Now, he lives in a modest five-bedroom Norfolk farmhouse, rarely leaving and with little social interaction. The perks of royal life have vanished.
According to royal reporter Jasmine Carey, Andrew is living as a recluse, with no evidence of visits from his daughters, Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie, in recent months. His social circle appears severely diminished.
Recent Sighting and Future Prospects
One of his last public appearances was at the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials, where he kept to himself and left shortly after the main event. This low-key outing may be the highlight of his summer.
As for the annual Royal Family gathering at Balmoral, Carey suggests it is highly unlikely Andrew will be invited, stating, "I think there is more chance of me and you being hosted at the castle."
