American Fan Follows Tartan Army 1,200 Miles to Miami

An American sports fan from Western Massachusetts has traveled over 1,200 miles from Boston to Miami to continue partying with the Tartan Army after describing Scotland supporters as 'the most fun people I've ever met.' Ryan, who has not disclosed his full name, joined the Scots in Boston for their World Cup group stage matches against Haiti and Morocco and decided to follow them to Southern Florida for their upcoming clash with Brazil.

Viral Videos Capture the Journey

Over the past few weeks, Ryan has posted several viral videos on TikTok documenting his experiences with the Tartan Army. His most recent clip, viewed more than 300,000 times, shows him arriving in Miami wearing a Saltire flag bucket hat signed by Scotland fans. In the video, he says: 'Tartan Army, we have made it to Southern Florida. We are here at the Elbow Room, the best bar in Southern Florida on the beach.' He adds: 'Shout out to the Edmonton Scottish society giving me this hat. Look they signed it, every single one of them signed it yesterday but here we are in Miami in Fort Lauderdale and we're cheering on Scotland.'

Dream Alive Despite Defeat

Despite Scotland's 1-0 defeat to Morocco on Friday, Ryan remains optimistic. In the same clip, he says: 'Scotland the dream is not dead yet, the Tartan Army has moved from my home city to Boston and now they're down here in Florida. Come on Scotland, Let's go.' At the end of the video, he spins the camera to show a busy bar filled with Scotland fans cheering on Steve Clarke's team.

Embracing Scottish Culture

Ryan has fully immersed himself in Scottish culture during the World Cup. He has been seen dancing to the anthem 'Bits and Pieces' and drinking Irn Bru. In a previous video, he praised the Scots: 'I've never in my life seen Boston this fun. Tartan Army are the greatest people on earth, the Scottish are the greatest alive. I have never in my life seen Boston like this. The most fun I've ever had this weekend is with the Scots.'

Upcoming Match Against Brazil

Ryan will be cheering on Scotland once more on Wednesday night as they take on Brazil at Miami Stadium on June 24. The game kicks off at 6pm EST (11pm BST) and will be broadcast live to fans back home. Scotland, who were previously top of Group C, now face an uphill battle to qualify for the knockout stages for the first time in World Cup history, but the Tartan Army remains hopeful.
