Amelia Gray Hamlin Details Cosmetic Surgery Journey and Acting Debut in The Beauty
Amelia Gray Hamlin Reveals Plastic Surgery History

Amelia Gray Hamlin, the 24-year-old model and daughter of actress Lisa Rinna, has candidly discussed her extensive history with plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures in a revealing new interview. The rising star detailed her surgical journey while promoting her acting debut in the highly anticipated Ryan Murphy series, The Beauty.

A Candid Confession About Cosmetic Procedures

In a recent conversation with Variety, Hamlin broke down the various enhancements she has undergone, offering a remarkably transparent account of her experiences. According to the publication, her surgical history includes a rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, and what she described as a medically essential breast reduction.

The Medical Necessity Behind Her Breast Reduction

Hamlin explained that the breast reduction was required to prevent a severe case of sepsis, which developed from an infection caused by a nipple ring. This procedure, while medically necessary, set off a chain of further surgical interventions that would profoundly impact her health and wellbeing.

Complications and Reconstruction Surgery

Following the initial reduction, Hamlin opted for breast implants, a decision she now attributes to being influenced by an older partner's beauty standards during her younger years. "I was dating somebody who was older than me when I was younger, and I sort of allowed his beauty perception to affect my choices," she revealed. "I decided to get another breast augmentation because I wasn't necessarily happy with the scarring that I was left with from the reduction."

This decision led to serious complications, culminating in what Hamlin described as waking up "in a state that I didn't agree to." The situation escalated into a medical emergency, with the model explaining that her body could not tolerate the implants. "It got to the point where I couldn't even pump soap because the implants were pushing on the nerves," she recounted. This ultimately necessitated an extensive 14-hour reconstruction surgery to address the damage.

Clarifications on Fillers and Current Treatments

Despite her openness about surgical procedures, Hamlin was quick to clarify that she has never used facial fillers. "I've always had these lips," she insisted, addressing speculation about her appearance. She did, however, mention currently using a treatment called SkinVive, which she described as a moisturising injection rather than a traditional filler.

Her Dramatic Acting Debut in The Beauty

Hamlin's revelations came during promotion for her role in Ryan Murphy's new FX series, The Beauty, which explores extreme measures people take to achieve physical attractiveness, with gruesome and sometimes fatal consequences. The show features an ensemble cast including Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, Ashton Kutcher, and Rebecca Hall, alongside guest appearances from numerous celebrities.

A Memorable Single Scene

Although Hamlin appears in just one scene, her performance is certainly memorable. She portrays a model enjoying lunch with friends who suddenly becomes violently ill, attacking her companions before ultimately exploding. Reflecting on the audition process, Hamlin recalled being in Paris preparing for a fashion show while feeling extremely unwell when she was asked to submit a tape.

"I was not down to do anything other than what I had to do, which was to get up and walk a runway that day," she remembered. "But the description said, 'Supermodel, extremely ill, but still looks good.' I was like, 'Oh, f**k, I gotta do that. I don't know if I look good, but I'm definitely sick as f**k.'"

Newfound Respect for Actors

The filming experience proved eye-opening for the model, giving her profound appreciation for the acting profession. "The amount of respect that I have for actors, people don't understand," she remarked. "It took me 16 hours and two plus days to shoot a three-minute scene. Babe, it takes me one day to shoot a whole campaign, you know? So I don't know. I'm very grateful for my job, and I have a lot of respect for actors. I'm just not sure it's my life yet."

Hamlin's dual revelations about her personal surgical journey and professional acting debut provide a fascinating glimpse into the pressures of beauty standards in both the modelling and entertainment industries, while highlighting the serious medical consequences that can sometimes accompany cosmetic procedures.
