Amanda Holden is reportedly being lined up to join the cast of the hit BBC show The Celebrity Traitors, following in the footsteps of her close friend and the show's 2025 winner, Alan Carr.
A Star-Studded Shortlist
The 54-year-old Britain's Got Talent judge is said to be one of several major names approached by producers for the upcoming series of the popular spin-off. According to reports, Holden initially encouraged Alan Carr to sign up for the flagship deception game, and his subsequent victory has now inspired her own interest in taking part.
However, a significant hurdle stands in her way: a major scheduling conflict. Filming for The Celebrity Traitors takes place in the Scottish Highlands, coinciding directly with the live semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent in London on Saturday nights.
The Juggling Act of a Busy Star
A television insider explained the complexity, stating: 'It's not impossible for her to be given some time off but it isn't the only work she'd have to juggle.' In addition to her BGT duties, Holden hosts the Heart Breakfast radio show and has potential commitments to further series of her projects with Alan Carr and her BBC quiz show, The Inner Circle.
Holden is not the only big name in discussions. It is also reported that ITV presenter Alison Hammond is in talks with BBC bosses. Insiders believe the 50-year-old could be 'comedy gold' on the programme. Other A-listers said to be on the potential list include actor Danny Dyer and Gavin & Stacey star Ruth Jones.
The Legacy of a Winning Traitor
The first celebrity series was a major success for the BBC, culminating in Alan Carr's victory. The comedian, 49, managed to go undetected as a Traitor throughout the entire game, ultimately snatching the £87,500 prize in a dramatic finale.
The final episode captivated an average audience of 11.1 million viewers, peaking at 12 million, making it the BBC's biggest overnight audience since the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special. Viewers watched as Carr successfully hoodwinked fellow contestants Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga, who mistakenly believed he was a Faithful until the very end.
A representative for the BBC declined to comment on the speculation, stating: 'We're not commenting on speculation but details about series two of The Celebrity Traitors will be announced in due course.' Contracts for the new series are not expected to be signed until later in the year.
