The drama began last Saturday when the influencer, often labelled a 'nepo baby', posted a nine-minute TikTok video detailing her extravagant festive gifts. In the clip, she revealed her father had "gone a little crazy" at the luxury British lingerie retailer Agent Provocateur. The haul included the brand's $1,050 'Rubi' sheer corset and the $660 'Pyper' corset, which features dramatic removable hip pads.
Barker was quick to clarify the selection process, however. She emphasised that her stepmother, Kourtney Kardashian, "picked out most of it" with assistance from a familiar sales assistant who provided recommendations. The items were reportedly on her Christmas list, and her father facilitated the purchase by enlisting Kardashian's help.

Just two days later, the online backlash had escalated to such a degree that Barker posted an emotional follow-up video. Wearing a bonnet and visibly irritated, she told her 9.6 million followers she needed to "go on a f***ing rant".
"Why the f*** are you guys trying to make this lingerie thing a thing. It's never going to be a thing, Gretchen!" she exclaimed, referencing the cult classic film Mean Girls. She reiterated, "You think my dad's like, 'Oh, I'm going to pick out my daughter lingerie'? No... he let Kourtney go pick out the lingerie."
The homeschooled Gen-Z star concluded her outburst with a stark threat: "God forbid a girl wanted cute panties and bras. Like, literally leave me alone. I'm literally never going to do another Christmas haul. I hate you guys!"
