Rapper Aitch was plunged into a world of terror during a first look at the upcoming Jungle Doomsday trial on ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! The 25-year-old star, whose real name is Harrison Armstrong, discovered in Monday's episode that he would be tackling the dreaded challenge to win food for his fellow campmates.
Confronting Snakes and Scorpions
A preview of the trial showed Aitch entering a chamber where he was immediately alerted to a malfunction, resulting in a chest full of snakes being released alongside him. His screams echoed as he came face-to-face with the serpents and scorpions. The challenge required him to unscrew stars while actively dodging bites and stings from the various critters.
In a moment of pure comedy and desperation, Aitch began singing the presenting duo Ant and Dec's classic hit, Let's Get Ready to Rhumble, in an attempt to distract himself from the horrors surrounding him. His impromptu performance left the hosts in stitches. Viewers will have to tune in to see if Aitch manages to win enough stars to keep the camp fed.
Camp Drama and Rule-Breaking
Elsewhere in Monday's instalment, the rapper called out a fellow campmate for bending the show's rules. The incident occurred after Kelly Brook, 45, accidentally threw her toothbrush into the jungle after being startled by a bug. Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley, 49, came to her aid by searching for and retrieving the toothbrush from outside the camp's designated boundary.
Aitch later commented to The Bush Telegraph, 'Lisa saved the day, she got right down there, I don't even think she's allowed down there to be honest. She's breaking the rules and everything, she's a badman.'
Aitch's Personal Mission
In a heartfelt revelation, Aitch previously shared that his main motivation for entering the jungle was to raise awareness for people with Down syndrome, like his 16-year-old sister, Gracie. He told the Daily Mail that he wants to change the narrative around the condition.
'I'm not only just doing it for people with Down syndrome, I'm doing it for people around as well,' he said. 'I don't want anyone to be like disheartened or feel s*** if they do find out someone in the family's got Down syndrome. It's a blessing... My main thing, really and truly, is because I don't want Down syndrome to be seen as a negative thing.'
He expressed his desire to eliminate the common reaction of 'Oh, I'm sorry to hear that', stating that people with Down syndrome are 'the best people in the world'.
In other camp news, actress and comedian Ruby Wax, 72, and YouTube star Angryginge, 24, successfully bagged the full 10 stars in the first viewer-voted Bushtucker Trial of the series.
