The family feud surrounding Olympic champion Adam Peaty has reportedly escalated, with the swimmer accused of brutally disinviting his elderly great aunt and uncle from his lavish wedding to Holly Ramsay just days before the ceremony.
Last-Minute Disinvitation Rocks Family
Adam Peaty, 31, and Holly Ramsay, 25, tied the knot at Bath Abbey last weekend in a ceremony from which several close family members were notably absent. The latest revelations indicate that the swimmer's great aunt Janet, 73, and uncle Eddie had their invitations revoked a mere four days before the nuptials.
According to a source, the couple received an automated message informing them they were off the guest list and were asked to respect the decision. "It was so impersonal, and just four days before the big day," the source told The Sun. Due to the extremely short notice, the pair had already spent hundreds of pounds on wedding gifts, new outfits, and accommodation.
A Deepening Family Rift
This incident marks a further deterioration in relations between Peaty and his family. His mother, Caroline, was previously disinvited last month following a row after she was not included in Holly Ramsay's hen do at Soho Farmhouse. She was said to be devastated, watching the wedding unfold from 130 miles away at the family home in Staffordshire.
Adam's father, Mark, was reportedly the only other immediate family member asked to attend, but under the condition he sit at the back "behind the plus ones." Peaty's two brothers, James and Richard, were also barred from the ceremony.
Bethany's Role and Alleged 'Betrayal'
The sole immediate family member present was Adam's older sister, Bethany, 32. She played a prominent role, handpicked by Holly to be one of three Maids of Honour. She was photographed walking arm-in-arm with the bride's sisters, Tilly and Megan Ramsay.
However, insiders claim Bethany's decision to attend and accept such a central position has left her mother feeling "betrayed." One source alleged, "Beth has betrayed her mum to see what she can get out of being the only family member who gets on with Adam and Holly." The source further claimed Bethany has changed her appearance and personality to align with the Ramsays' celebrity lifestyle since striking up a close friendship with Holly in early 2023.
Whilst the newlyweds have jetted off on honeymoon, Bethany is said to be left to face the familial fallout. Her fiancé, Dan, who is believed to be close to Adam, attended the swimmer's stag do in Budapest last month.
