Abbey Clancy's Casual Chic at FA Cup Clash and Valentine's Surprise Gone Wrong

Model Abbey Clancy presented a relaxed yet stylish figure as she attended the FA Cup fifth-round match between Fulham and Southampton at Craven Cottage Stadium in London on Sunday. The 40-year-old appeared in high spirits, sporting a fashionable black leather jacket paired with light blue denim jeans and brown trainers. Her blonde hair was styled loosely, and she accessorised with sunglasses while watching Southampton secure a penalty in extra time, clinching their spot in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Abbey seemed to have her hands full, carrying a large Marc Jacobs handbag along with a black clutch and a substantial water bottle. This public appearance follows her recent revelation about a Valentine's Day surprise for her husband, former footballer Peter Crouch, that turned embarrassingly awkward.

Valentine's Day Surprise Mishap with Peter Crouch

On their podcast, The Therapy Crouch, Abbey recounted how she planned a romantic evening by dressing in skimpy lingerie from Agent Provocateur and covering up with a Burberry mac to surprise Peter. However, the surprise backfired when Peter, 45, invited a chef to their home to cook a meal for them. Abbey explained, "That was the worst surprise ever because I got a gorgeous outfit from Agent Provocateur and just put it on with a coat on top."

She added, "And Pete was like 'Surprise! We've got a chef'. So I had to just wear my coat for the whole dinner at home. I had to wear my coat for the whole meal in my own house and I was literally sweating because I was so worried." Peter kept asking if she was hot in the coat, eventually realising why she wouldn't remove it, but by then it was too late to ask the chef to leave without seeming rude.

Peter commented, "He wouldn't go away as well. You know when they come over and they want to explain the meal. It's like 'p*** off mate, will you'. I want to see whats underneath." Abbey, a mother of four, noted that Valentine's nights at home can be just as romantic as going out, advising couples not to feel pressured on February 14. She said, "That is nice, to stay in, if you can ship the kids off. There's just so much pressure sometimes, love doesn't cost a thing." Peter agreed, highlighting the influence of social media, "There's so much pressure now because of Instagram, you compare everything." The couple also mentioned they prefer simple gestures like cards and flowers over extravagant gifts.

Previous Romantic Gestures and Stripper Disaster

This isn't the first time Abbey has used a mac for a surprise; she once picked up Peter from training wearing only a Burberry trench coat to persuade him to come home. Peter admitted, "And it worked - very well." However, he complained that romantic surprises often fall on the man, saying, "All the ones is on the man - that's the problem."

When Abbey did attempt a surprise for one of his birthdays by hiring a stripper, it proved disastrous. Abbey recalled, "He went ballistic. I got him a roly-poly-o-gram and he went mad. A larger stripper - and he went mental that everyone was looking at him, so told her instantly to leave. She didn't even take one sock off." Peter, who was playing for Liverpool and England at the time, described the scene in a Liverpool restaurant, "We were in a restaurant in Liverpool with loads of random people and all of a sudden this stripper turned up, starts gyrating. I'm playing for Liverpool and England at the time and everyone started filming. I was like 'I'm sorry, but I can't do this'. So I just gave her some cash and said 'Can you leave?' Then she just went 'Oh, ok, great', and then left. I was so mortified by the whole situation."

Abbey Clancy has been married to Peter Crouch since 2011, and the couple share four children together, often sharing insights into their relationship through their popular podcast.
