Nicholas Ralph, best known for playing James Herriot in Channel 5's All Creatures Great and Small, has shared behind-the-scenes photos from the set of ITV's Grantchester ahead of his guest appearance in the final series.
The 36-year-old actor posted images of himself in costume on Instagram, describing it as a "treat" to join the detective drama. He wrote: "The vicars will see you now. Such a treat to be part of the final season of Grantchester and this wonderful company as Rev. John Planer. Made even sweeter by acting alongside my pal from drama school days @christierussellbrown!"
Guest Role as a Clergyman with Secrets
Ralph appears in episode five as Reverend John Planer, a clergyman hiding disturbing secrets. His character meets Alphy Kotteram during a church retreat, setting up a dramatic confrontation. Fans reacted enthusiastically on social media, with one commenting: "Just watched the episode; you were scary! Very well-acted!"
Grantchester's Final Season
After 12 years, Grantchester concludes with its 11th series. In the US, season 11 premiered on PBS on 14 June and runs until 2 August. Actor Robson Green, who plays Detective Inspector Geordie Keating, reflected on the show's end, saying: "From the very beginning, I have had the incredible fortune to be part of this extraordinary team of talented, passionate, and dedicated individuals who have become more than colleagues.
