Gladiator Matt Morsia Gives Update After Surgery for Torn Bicep
Gladiator Matt Morsia Update After Bicep Surgery

Gladiator Matt Morsia, known as Legend on the BBC show, has provided an update on his health after suffering a severe bicep injury during filming. The 36-year-old fitness influencer revealed that his bicep tendon detached from the bone, leaving his arm 'hanging off'.

Injury During Filming

Appearing on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch on June 7, Morsia described the incident in detail. He was participating in a Gladiators challenge that involved tackling a contender at a significant height. 'I dived, grabbed the contender but he'd managed to hold on to the big post at the end, so I had flown off and my arm ripped behind me,' he explained. 'I thought I'd ripped his vest off because I heard this massive rip. Turned out, it was just my bicep.'

Morsia underwent surgery last year to repair the torn distal bicep tendon. He previously described the recovery period as 'the worst of my life', citing intense post-operative sickness that left him unable to eat for 12 days and losing around 15kg in bodyweight. However, he now says his arm is 'all good'.

Support from Fans and Fellow Gladiators

Following his initial social media post about the injury, Morsia received an outpouring of support. JB Gill wrote, 'Feel better soon broski,' while fellow Gladiator Jodie Ounsley sent 'big love'. Zack George commented, 'My boi you will heal rapiddddddd,' and Angela Scanlon added, 'Get well soon pal'. The official Gladiators account posted, 'Even injured, still a LEGEND. This comeback is going to be one for the history books!'

Morsia, who joined the Gladiators reboot in 2024 alongside competitors like Steel and Fury, continues to recover and remains positive about his return to the show. Sunday Brunch airs from 10am on Channel 4.
