Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is getting money hungry in Emmerdale next week. Amid his determination to become the new owner of The Hide, Robert decides to host a poker game, believing the current amount of money in his bank account can increase.
Prior to the big event, Robert approaches Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) beside Jimmy King’s (Nick Miles) grave and suggests that she can make it up to Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) with actions rather than words. Gabby approaches Nicola and tells her that once she’s completed the sale of The Hide with Robert, she can have the money.
Aaron seeks answers over Robert's scheming
When Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) discovers this, he heads to see Robert for answers. Robert explains that once the deal has gone through, the scheming will stop, but star Ryan Hawley recently dropped a teaser that suggests otherwise.
‘I think for the foreseeable’, he said when asked if Robert’s scheming is going to continue. ‘I don’t know what’s round the corner. But yeah. It’s quite fun to do so hopefully it makes fun scenes to watch.’
Ryan Hawley on the Sugden revival
Reflecting on Emmerdale reigniting the Sugdens, Ryan added: ‘I am loving being the figure head for that. It’s been a lot of fun. We have a great group of people that we are working with. Am I allowed to say this? Cut it out of not. We have seemingly never-ending bedrooms upstairs with characters living in what is now called Emmerdale farm.
‘I’m sure there’s like a dozen of us. There’s so many scenes in our kitchen where It feels like the house is full. Everybody’s busy, got to be somewhere. Everybody’s got something going on. It’s great. I feel really blessed to be amongst that.’
Claudette's involvement raises stakes
In the week, Robert tells Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) that they’re invited to a high stakes game of poker. Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) decides he’s going along, but he then discovers Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) is playing.
How will Kev react if he witnesses Claudette losing her money, so soon after she gave a stack of it to Kev’s pal Steve?
