Cat Deeley admits spiralling and losing sleep over sons

Cat Deeley has confessed to "spiralling" and "losing sleep" over concerns for her sons, Milo, ten, and James, eight. The This Morning star has opened up about her home life.

Worrying about the children

In a chat with The Sun, the presenter, who confirmed her separation from husband Patrick Kielty last year, said: "I probably worry about the kids more now than I did then [when they were little]. I just want them to be happy, and I tend to worry a little bit too much.

"Sometimes when I can't sleep at night, I go into this kind of spiral of, 'Will they be happy, and will they find something that they love to do?' and 'Will they find someone to love?'. You just want the best for them. I have a great team of people around me. I have a brilliant nanny who's basically my right-hand woman. She's just ace," Cat continued.

Returning to the UK

"It was one of my good decisions to come back to the UK so that I could be close to my family and my friends, and also so the boys can go to school here."

Cat, who is reportedly seeing a new man according to The Sun, emphasised that she always strives to maintain a "positive" outlook. "Nobody goes through life without, at some stage, having a problem in one way, shape or form. That's impossible. It doesn't matter what it is. What matters is how you deal with it," she elaborated.

Split announcement and new relationships

Cat and Patrick, who wed in 2012, officially announced their split in July 2025. "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved," they declared in a joint statement. "We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment."

In the 15 months that have followed, the couple have continued to jointly parent their sons while exploring new relationships. Patrick was reportedly seen on a date with businesswoman Michelle McManus last month, and as of July, Cat has been linked to Amazon MGM boss Charlie Coleman, although neither has officially confirmed these romances.

According to a report by The Sun, friends of Cat claimed she was "genuinely happy" for Patrick and Michelle, reports the Express. "Cat's attitude is: 'Good luck to them.' At the end of the day, that's the whole point of separating in the first place," an insider allegedly told the newspaper. "She is genuinely happy for him and knows it's good for them that he's happy and positive. Cat herself is in a great place, and that's where she wants to stay."
