A leading Australian private school is at the centre of a police investigation following disturbing allegations that a teenage boy was physically and verbally assaulted by a group of fellow students.
Details of the Alleged Rose Bay Assault
New South Wales Police have confirmed they are investigating an incident reported to have occurred on Saturday at a sports ground on Manion Avenue in Rose Bay, an affluent suburb in Sydney's eastern suburbs. According to statements, officers were contacted at approximately 5:40pm after a 17-year-old boy claimed he was assaulted by a group of youths.
The victim told police he had been invited to a private Snapchat group, which led to an arrangement to meet the other students. However, upon arrival, he was allegedly ambushed and led to a secluded area away from public view. Reports state the boy was forced to walk through a human tunnel of students while holding a flag, during which he was pushed, slapped on the back, and had beer thrown over him.
Disturbing Footage and Verbal Abuse
Footage shared within the group reportedly captured parts of the incident. The Daily Telegraph reported that the distraught teenager was also subjected to sustained verbal abuse, including being called a "fat f***", before he managed to escape the situation. Police noted that the boy sustained no physical injuries from the alleged assault. An investigation into the full circumstances is now underway.

The students involved are reported to be from The Scots College, an exclusive independent school based in the nearby suburb of Bellevue Hill. Fees for the prestigious institution start from $27,240 and can rise to $46,920 for a Year 12 student. The Daily Mail has approached the college for comment in light of the serious allegations.
