A woman in her 20s has died after emergency services responded to an incident at Didsbury Park in south Manchester on Sunday evening. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called at around 6:15pm on June 21 following reports of a concern for welfare.
Emergency Response
A large emergency response was scrambled to the park off Wilmslow Road, including several ambulance vehicles and reportedly an air ambulance. The woman was found unresponsive at the scene and was rushed to hospital, where she sadly died despite the best efforts of medical staff.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Officers responded to an incident at Didsbury Park, Manchester at around 6:15pm on Sunday 21 June following reports of a concern for welfare. One woman, aged in her 20s, was found unresponsive. She was taken to hospital where, despite best efforts of medical staff, she sadly died."
Investigation Underway
Enquiries are now ongoing to establish the full details surrounding the incident. No further information about the woman has been released at this stage. Police have not confirmed any suspicious circumstances, and the cause of death is yet to be determined.
The park, a popular recreational area in the Didsbury suburb, was cordoned off while emergency services attended the scene. Witnesses reported seeing multiple emergency vehicles and a police presence in the area.
