A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'The M8 westbound at Junction 27, White Cart Viaduct in Paisley, has reopened following a one-car crash reported around 8.40pm on Thursday, 16 July, 2026. Renfrew Road between Abbotsinch Retail Park roundabout and Arkleston Road roundabout has also reopened. Two females have been taken to hospital for treatment.'

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Motorists were advised to avoid the area during the closure, which caused significant disruption to evening traffic near Glasgow Airport.
