Tragic Four-Year-Old Olive Farrow Killed in Car Crash

Olive Farrow, a four-year-old girl described by her family as a 'cheeky, funny and sassy little girl' with a 'big personality,' died after being struck by a vehicle on Nottingham Road in Gotham. The incident occurred at 2:28pm on Sunday, July 12, 2026, and Olive was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after.

Family Remembers Olive's Vibrant Spirit

In a tribute released by Nottinghamshire Police on Friday, Olive's family said: 'Olive was a cheeky, funny and sassy little girl, who may have been tiny in size, but she certainly made up for it with her big personality.' They recalled how she would 'sing and dance her way round the house,' always spreading affection with kisses and cuddles, and going out of her way to be kind.

The family highlighted Olive's creativity, noting that 'Olive's memory will live on with all the colourful paintings we have around the house. Quite often she would take herself off and come back with a beautiful work of art as she was so creative.' She was 'inseparable' from her two brothers, Teddy and Sonny, whom she 'looked up to with so much love.'

Olive's Excitement for School

Olive was due to join her brother Sonny at primary school and had already attended taster sessions. Her family said: 'She was so excited to be joining her brother there.' The loss has left the family 'utterly devastated,' adding that 'no words can express the loss and pain felt across the family and all that knew Olive.'

Arrest and Investigation

A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further inquiries. Sergeant Paul Clark of Nottinghamshire Police said: 'This is a deeply tragic incident, and our thoughts continue to be with Olive's loved ones at this unimaginably difficult time.' He urged the public not to speculate on social media and to respect the family's privacy, including at a vigil held at St Lawrence's Church in Gotham on Friday.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them, quoting incident 424 of July 12. The community has shown support, with flowers and messages left on Nottingham Road, which the family said 'has helped greatly.'
