A drink and drug driver has admitted killing a 13-year-old boy and seriously injuring two other teenagers after crashing into them as they rode a bicycle and scooter in Bedfordshire.

Guilty Plea in Court

Collision and Aftermath

Fountain briefly slowed after the collision but continued towards Flitwick. Emergency services were called, but 13-year-old Noah Campbell was pronounced dead a short time later. The two other boys were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Fountain's damaged car was found deserted in a nearby street shortly afterwards. Police then located Fountain and arrested him.

Tributes to Noah

Noah's family previously paid tribute to him, describing him as a 'fun, bright, handsome, athletic and incredibly well-liked boy.' They said: 'Above all else, he cherished spending time with his friends and family; they were the heart of his world.' They added: 'We are utterly devastated; Noah's death has left a hole in our lives that will remain forever.'

Police Statement

Detective Sergeant Shona Searle, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire serious collision investigation unit, said: 'Our thoughts remain firmly with the family and friends of Noah and the two other boys involved in this collision. Noah was just 13 years old and had his whole life ahead of him, while the other two boys will live with the physical and emotional impact of this collision for the rest of their lives. They continue to be supported by a specialist trained officer and we ask that all three families are given privacy at this time.'

Sentencing and Related Case

Fountain will be sentenced on September 25. Passenger Ellie Ireland, of Wingate Drive, Ampthill, denied perverting the course of justice at an earlier hearing, police confirmed.
