Children Blamed After Ducklings Killed in Bridgend

Police are investigating after a group of children were reportedly seen killing ducklings near a play area in Bridgend. The incident occurred in the Cefn Glas area on Wednesday evening, according to witnesses.

RSPCA Responds to Disturbing Reports

The RSPCA has expressed deep concern over the reports. A spokesperson for the animal welfare charity said: "We are really concerned to hear reports of such a deeply concerning incident." The charity reminded the public that waterfowl are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, making it an offence to intentionally kill, injure, or take any bird except under licence.

Witnesses reported seeing a group of children killing ducklings that had been spotted in a small stream near the play area on Milton Drive in recent days. The RSPCA noted that while most people are appalled by such acts, there are individuals who deliberately target wildlife, sometimes using weapons like airguns and catapults, causing horrific pain and suffering.
