Car Rams Glasgow House Linked to Crime Family in Gang Revenge Attack
Car Rams Glasgow Crime Family House in Revenge Attack

Emergency services were called to the Barlanark area of Glasgow early Thursday after a car was driven into a house linked to a notorious crime family and then set ablaze, in what police believe is a gangland revenge attack. This marks the second time the property has been targeted this year.

Attack Details

The incident occurred around 12:39 a.m. on June 18, when a white Nissan Juke was rammed into the front of an end-of-terrace house on Garvel Crescent. The vehicle was then torched, with flames spreading to the property's front door. Firefighters from three appliances extinguished the blaze by 2:32 a.m., and no casualties were reported.

According to the Daily Record, the house is linked to a relative of a foot soldier for a well-known Glasgow crime family. A similar attack took place in February, when a car was driven into the side of the same building.

Revenge for Edinburgh Attack

A source told the Record that Thursday's attack was retaliation for a firebombing of a business linked to an associate of a mob boss in Edinburgh earlier this week. The source stated: "This is clearly revenge for the attack in Edinburgh on Tuesday. The mobs are hitting back this year. They weren't just going to sit back forever."

Images from the scene show the burnt-out vehicle lodged in the living room window, with scorch marks on the brickwork and debris scattered across the garden. Police have cordoned off the property and the street entrance.

Witness Accounts

A neighbor reported seeing two men park a car on a nearby street about an hour before the attack. They were overheard asking, "Have you got the petrol?" Shortly after, a loud bang was heard as the car struck the house, followed by a petrol bomb thrown inside the vehicle. The suspects then fled in their original car.

Last month, a skip lorry was driven into the Edinburgh home of a teenage gangster allegedly involved in Scotland's drug war. Police investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
