CCTV Released After Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Gillingham

Kent Police have launched a public appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Gillingham that claimed the life of a male pedestrian.

Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

Officers from the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly keen to obtain any dashcam or CCTV footage that may show a grey Mercedes estate car in the area around the time of the incident.

The collision occurred on Monday 30 December 2025 at approximately 12.10pm on the A289 Gads Hill in Gillingham. Emergency services, including South East Coast Ambulance paramedics, attended the scene and treated the pedestrian. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead a short time later.

CCTV Images of Men Sought

As part of their ongoing investigation, detectives have released closed-circuit television images of two men they wish to identify and speak to. The CCTV stills show two hooded men dressed in dark clothing on a pavement near the scene. In one of the images, one man appears to be running while carrying what seems to be a number plate.

Detective Inspector Zoe Wilczek, who is leading the inquiry, acknowledged the images were not perfectly clear but stressed their importance. "While we appreciate the quality of these images isn't crystal clear, we are still in the early stages of our investigation and thank everyone who has provided images and witness accounts so far," she said.
