CCTV Released After Fatal Car Crash in Gillingham

Kent Police have launched a public appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Gillingham that claimed the life of a male pedestrian.

Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

The serious incident occurred on the A289 Gads Hill in Gillingham at approximately 12.10pm on Monday 29 December 2025. Emergency services, including South East Coast Ambulance paramedics, attended the scene. Despite receiving treatment, the pedestrian tragically died from his injuries.

Officers from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now leading the enquiry. They are urging anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward, particularly any video showing a grey Mercedes estate car in the vicinity around the time of the incident.

CCTV Images of Men Sought

As part of their investigation, detectives have released CCTV images of two men they are keen to identify and speak to. The images show two hooded individuals dressed in dark clothing on a pavement near the scene. Notably, one of the men appears to be running and is seen carrying what is believed to be a number plate.

Detective Inspector Zoe Wilczek, who is overseeing the case, acknowledged the challenges but emphasised the importance of public assistance. "While we appreciate the quality of these images isn't crystal clear, we are still in the early stages of our investigation and thank everyone who has provided images and witness accounts so far," she stated.
