Grammy-nominated music producer Tay Keith, known for his work with Drake, Travis Scott, and Beyoncé, has been found dead at his apartment in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 29 years old.

Keith, whose real name was Brytavious Chambers, was discovered during a police welfare check on Thursday afternoon. The Metro Nashville Police Department stated on X that no foul play is suspected, and the cause of death has not yet been determined.

Keith co-produced two of the biggest songs of 2018: Travis Scott's Sicko Mode, which reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and Drake's Nonstop, which peaked at No. 2 on the same chart that year.

In 2018, he founded the music label and creative space Drumatized Music Group in Memphis, alongside his manager Cambrian Strong. The duo were featured together on Forbes' 30 Under 30 Music list in 2024.

Keith received two Grammy nominations: one in 2019 for Sicko Mode and another in 2024 for his production on Drake and 21 Savage's Rich Flex.

Early Life and Collaborations

Born and raised in Memphis, Keith started producing music at age 14. Over his career, he worked with a wide range of artists, including Beyoncé, Cardi B, Eminem, Future, Lil Nas X, and Miley Cyrus.

His most recent projects included Megan Thee Stallion's 2024 album Megan, Jack Harlow's single Just Us featuring Doja Cat, and Travis Scott's single 4x4, both released in 2025.

Tributes

One of Keith's early collaborators, rapper BlocBoy JB, shared a broken heart emoji on Instagram Stories in response to the news. He wrote, "Damn Cuz You Just Hurt Me Bad," alongside a photo of the two together and a log of their phone calls, adding, "We talked everyday yeen tell me you was leaving."

Other tributes came from Memphis music producer Hitkidd and Florida-based DJ and record producer DJ Scheme.
