Salford Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault

A doctor from Salford has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman, according to police. Danial Moin Baloch, 30, from Worsley in Salford, is scheduled to appear in court in Staffordshire next month, Staffordshire Police confirmed on Friday.

Arrest and Investigation

In a statement, the police force revealed that Baloch was arrested in November 2024 after a woman filed a report, prompting an investigation. The doctor had been working on a temporary basis for the University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) NHS Trust in Staffordshire until August 2024, as reported by the BBC.

Allegation Timing

The BBC noted that the allegation was made to police two months after Baloch stopped working for the trust. Neither the police nor the trust would confirm whether the report came from a patient.

As this is part of a criminal investigation it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage. Our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our patients."

The trust operates Royal Stoke University Hospital, County Hospital, Staffordshire Children's Hospital at Royal Stoke, and the Community Diagnostic Centre.
