Jihad Al-Shamie, a 21-year-old accounting student from London, travelled to Gaza in late October to visit relatives and improve his Arabic language skills. What should have been a routine educational trip turned into every family's worst nightmare when he failed to return home as planned.
Family's Desperate Plea
His sister, Amira Al-Shamie, spoke exclusively about the family's anguish. "We last heard from him on November 12th," she revealed, her voice trembling with emotion. "He sent a message saying he was safe and would contact us soon. That was the last time anyone heard from him."
The family has been living in constant fear since that day, with sleepless nights becoming their new normal. "Every phone call, every notification sends our hearts racing," Amira added. "We just want to know he's safe."
